Well we had our usual turn out of guys on our team show up, about 6 of us. But it really was 3 as Olddog brougt some of his younger crew with us for this game.
I guess to juts make this quick and short as i am still trying to recover from the weekend.
Sat. morning we got there and get all of our gear together and get the meeting before the game starts at about 1015am. the game was to start at 10am.
They gave us the briefing of the rules and what the game objectives are supose to be for the first sessin Sat. morning. Then they divide us up between the US and German forces. Well ARC Troopers were there and they had about 25-30 guys there for them. We tried to get with them but we got moved to the US side for the game. After seeing that there really is no other scrnario team there for us to plan with. But we met Agressive Nature (3) we got together with them for the morning game, but the rest of the numbers were pretty much walk on's with us.
Well the moring session we got our butts handed to us and it was not the out playiong us type. It was more of the numbers of the scenario teams on the sides. There really was not coordination for us during the morning session at all. So the Arc guys kind of comand the whole game against us. I guess you could say that we should have expected that as this is the home field for them after all.
The day was hot and kind of muggy with the humidity up there but tollerable for us.
Our afternoon session we held our ground pretty much and kept on trying to get some of the objectives back for points. Well it kind of dod not go our way for that session either. It was just to hard to try and command the walk on's or should we say coordinate them with us.
Night game was okay but not that great as the numbers of players dropped drastically for the night game compared tot he day game.
Sunday the numbers were very small as to be expected as it was Fathers Day. But in turn we held our ground agianst the Germans this time and had pretty much most of the objectives flags. So that carried over tot he afternoon game and we lost it at the end as the numbers droped pretty drastically so to the paint running out on players and heat was very intense.
We had to rescue Private Ryan and Dirdy and Bulldog along with the guys from Agressive Nature were at the area to get him before the Germans could find him. Well our key to this game was to hold the Germans off till 430pm and if we had Ryan we would win the session. Once the flags at the stations were changed from US to German you could not get those flags back. They were then pretty much out of play for us as they could not be captured back for us. But for some reason the walk on players chose to to keep on attacking these areas. It was pointless as mentioned above as we could not get them back.
We had to hold the beach and the bank area from the germans till 430pm so that we could get Ryan to one of the landing craft to the end the game at 430pm. Well our numbers dropped again, due to paint and air for some of the members on the team. So at about 415pm the Germans over ran the bank and beach area and took Ryan from us. All that time we had him to place there once we got the game at the end to stop. By doing this at the 430pm time we would have won the game. Buit someone moved the Ryan dummy to the landing craft and that gave the Germans the time they needed to get him from us.
They took him and we had no respawn time to get back in and try to get him back from them.
So there you have it in a short summary of the game and how it went for us. _________________ If you find a tree big enough to get behind, push your teammate out from behind it.

We had a total of 4 bingo + 3 more.
Bingo
Bulldog
Dirdy
Olddog +3
First game i had a blast, going against pretty uneven odds against us as our group went as Paratroopers behind enemy lines with the germans completley off gaurd of where we were and most of them focusing on the Beach defense, we walked up right behind them completley oblivious to us took our first objective easily. (Ammo Dump 1)
After our first objective was complete we split up in the city where we tried to get to ammo dump 2 but it went to hell from there.
When i respawned back at the paratroopers respawn i was 3 feet away from taking Sarabatchi flag (SP?) hill but after taking out about 10 germans by myself behind enemy lines 6 angry germans came from the satalite camp to take me out lol.
Once Bulldog took the field the game turned around alot, we were able to capture majority of the flags and get our control of the field instead of on the beach. Until we lost control in the last 15 minutes of the game where 1 man from ARCtroopers took our flags at the last minute lol.
2nd day we captured ryan and was able to take control of the game and stay ontop until the end where it did hurt from our loss of players, but nothing to complain about. Tons of fun!
With a Broken feedneck due to physical force
Poison ivy to the face (close 2 eye)
Lots of Scraches
Lots of Aches and Pains
Lots of gear to clean and fix
Id do it all over again for as much fun as i had, this game was well worth the negatives i have now lol. _________________

I guess it was my turn to be the hardware gimp, but once I gave up on the big guns and took the field with my Tiberius I had a blast. I got my pics up here. If you have some, email them to me and I'll add them. _________________ "videor levis, forsitan usus pauci telum" |

I think our loss in the Pvt. Ryan scenario came down to boredom. I went lone lone wolf to harass their rear flank and send anyone who reinserted too casually back to the dead box to meditate on caution. Dirdy and a bunch of NPCs went to the Eastern flank to try to retake the city. Neither one had anything to do about getting points, and a lot to do with having fun.
The smart thing would have been to stay in position in the bank and at the tower SW of it, and just keep them at bay until the final horn. But we had them well in hand for the first two hours, and sitting around the bank was boring, so we tried to take the whole town for the sheer glory of it.
The other team played smart, focused on taking that tower and the village, and then used it as a toe-hold to assault the bank in the last few minutes. By the time our people in the bank started calling for help, the folks on the eastern wall and I were too far away and on the wrong side of the enemy to help out.
It didn't help that no one noticed large numbers of our team retiring from the game. I would have tried to round up the guys on the eastern wall and bring them back around the beach to the bank earlier if I'd know we were that short-handed around Ryan, but since I only saw a couple guys with Dirdy, and only one other red stalking their backfield, I figured there were still 8-10 guys in the bank longballing. _________________ "videor levis, forsitan usus pauci telum"

When i went to take the city i was just gonna stir some things up as well, so they couldnt get organized to take the bank.
The Best Defense is a good offense right? Plus any good defense is gonna get overrun when you give a team 2 hours to push through.
When i was on the east side of the city along the treeline i got taken out by my own team which i didnt realize they were their, only about 2-3 of us. When i respawned it was all up to the bank line on that main line of bunkers shooting at the windows so i got a good angle to defend from right in between both teams crossfire until a little kid came and made me feel embarresed but he tried to get me to surrender....i took the hit instead but i thought we had the east side contained from the people who shot me on my team lol.
But Bulldog is right, fun > Winning anyday! I have fun winning, but when you win and your like wow that was it? Or what a challenge that was you know whats fun then. _________________

I guess yopu could say the bank collapse was partly mu fault though. I had left the bank to hlwp the girl I thouhg had a concussion. If I had known she had the anxiety disorder and other stuff wrong I would have stayed in then.
Part of the problem with the losing of the bank was that the walk ons kept trying to retake the flags that once they were lost you could not get them back. They just did not want to listen at the fact they were needed a tthe village and bank.
But then again it does help if you have radios and that was something that a lot of folks on our side did not have.
But like you guys said it was all about having fun and that we did... _________________ If you find a tree big enough to get behind, push your teammate out from behind it.
