I just finished a 2 day paintball camping trip at SplatterPark and had a BLAST. I started the first day using my Angel, I was NOT going to use the Pro/Carbine on a speedball field in a One on One Top Gun tourney. after I put the Angel away I used the Pro/Carbine until the park closed at 4pm.
After dinner I heard someone say pump play on the airball field so I went over to the truck and grabed my PGP, loaned out a couple of my SL-68 II's then looked at Sean, splatterpark's manager and asked if he wanted to play and he took me up on the loaner of my other PGPs. We played a while then looked at each other and said Fort Buckeye? and off we went. Let me tell you a 5 on 6 all pump game at twilight on Fort Buckeye is more fun than I think I will ever have.
The second day started with a 2 on 2 Old School Pump only tourney in which I used one of my SL 68 II's. I decieded with about 6 of the other old schoolers to just use our pumps the whole day. Since our CPPA numbers were down for the second day and open play was low too we joined up with open play for a while to let the CPPA speedballers a chance to waste some paint on the airball field. We heared rumblings that Sean was playing paintball but the refs all were saying he's just helping someone with their gun it must be having problems. As we walked up to the field from a distance I saw what was in Seans hand and I told the ref nope Sean is playing that's my marker in his hand. Sean had gone back to my truck and borrowed one of my PGPs from my wife. That's when we had another really fun game at Fort Buckeye, some to most of the speedballers had finally joined us again so the CPPA guys were only out numbered 3-1 aginst open play but we defended the fort anyway even with Sean helping out the open play guys and gals.
I also found out that I have natural "Paintball Reactive Armor" I go out on the field with only a pod pack and a camo long sleve "t" shirt and BDU pants. I was taking bounces all weekend, several players, sometimes during the game asked me "How many times do I have to hit you before your out?" then I would respond back "Until the first one breaks" I mean I took like 8+ bounces from one kid. This Armor covers 3 sides, hit me in the back they almost always break the first time!!
Was a great time and hope some of you can join me next year!
