Hey guys, im working on the ski club page/section for my yearbook and i took a few videos while snowboarding and i wanted to put a few of those videos in my yearbook.

Of course i cant put a video in a book so i wanted to take out some pictures from the video (Quicktime videos which i think is .mov format)

So basicly i have videos of people and myself on ramps and rails and i want to take a section or frame and make it into a Jpeg, anyone know any type of file converter or software i can use to do so? Thanks for the help!

Also anyone know a good video editor or creator? I have so many videos it would be fun to see if i could put them together and make a quick or small movie. Heck maybe a mini Jackass for our Myspace lol.

For super simple editing, use Microsoft Movie, that comes with and Windows XP system, you can save out to AVI. For Mac peeps (or if you have access to one at school) use IMovie, it works nice too. For a little more function, or conversions, you can get Quicktime Pro for $30, but personally I hate it.
I recommend Pinnacle, it is easy to use and has good functions for the price, $130 I think.... but for smoking effects, go all the way to Adobe Premier and your rocking, although the learning curve is a bit steep.

ps. I have Adobe Premier if you need it... an old version 1.5 but still worth the time to install.

Looks good on myspace for now lol, have a gap in the music too which i cant figure out how to fix might be the file size. Now i just need to find out how to convert a small slide to a jpeg for yearbook.
