Just heard about this, but thought you all would be interested......

I feel sorry for them. Hopefully they will get well. I'm sure the smoke grenade was pressurized improperly. Well you know how the old saying goes "$hit happens". I remember back in the October of 2007 a young adult died from being shot in the throat. Even other sports have their fatal mishaps.

there are to lessons to be learned here. 1) dont walk towards a smoke bomb. it is called a BOMB for a reason. 2) to avoid being shot in the throat and dying, dont get shot. its simple really. lol

how are you at an angle to for someone to get a clean shot on ur throat?
|
Bingo

From what I have seen and heard on other foms is that was not the typical smoke bomb. I will only use the orange marine smoke that you can get for about 7-8.00 at least with the person I get them from.
Never buy something that looks out of the ordinary is all I can say.

Well they were "testing" it to see if they could use it at the larger games so they must have been leary of the thing.

To be honest I have no idea. I heard it through the news one day.

Are you kidding! Dug into the bushes, or running and sliding, you have a very clean shot at someones throat.... trust me, I have been hit there before! One game up in Mich they had to EMS a kid to the hospital who caught one in the adam's apple because his esophagus was swelling up and he couldn't breath, they were about to give him a tracheotomy tube when they left for the hospital. It CAN happen.... why do you think they make throat protectors!
Anyhow, it is possible, and it hurts! Usually a one in a million shot, and nobody every tries to hit someone there, but shots don't always go exactly where you want every time anyhow....

now that sucks. Anytime you are playing with anything that is under pressure there is a chance of that happening. Lets just hope they get better and that this does not bring anymore neg press our way. Our prayers are with them.
