A5 Support and Parts

Guys on Saturday I am getting a A5A2 and am planning on needing a little help with it later. Other then Tippmannparts.com where else do you suggest I go? This is my first tippy in a long while (other then my 98C that I didnt use)
Bingo

The gun is easy to take care of don't fret about it. You should not have a problem with taking it apart.
BigMac

Danke sir! Can't wait to get it.
Zoo

You mean for spare parts?

In addition to local retailers, I've had good service through these companies:
Action Village - A5 section http://www.actionvillage.com/is-b...n-gun-upgrades-tippmann-a-5-parts
Hot Shot Paintball - A5 section
http://www.hotshotpaintball.com/m...en=CTGY&Category_Code=ACCS-A5
BigMac

nice, ive used action village before but not the other one
Any "must have mods" for an A5 I should get?
Zoo

First some questions:
1. Is it new or used? And if used, do you know what it already has installed?
2. Will you be using strictly HPA, or also shoot some CO2 at times.
Bingo

UUHHH !! I have had some good luck with Paintball Ohio in parts there. But i think you can find some cheaper other places.

1. upgrade the cyclone ratchet with either the JCS Jet Click or tech t mod for the cyclone. It will save you in the long run of having to replace the parts. Nothing like the cyclone pooping out in the middle of fire fight.

2. I had some good luck with the squisshy paddles from tech t for the cyclone also. Had them on the last a5 I sold to get the dt kit. Much easier on the pb's in the cyclone. Gave me less breaks IMO...
BigMac

It comes with RT
Yea I was thinking about the paddles and the Ttech stuff. They just came out their new exhaust housing
BigMac

Ok so I found this from RAP4
http://rap4.com/paintball/os/tipp...lone-complete-upgrade-p-4396.html
It looking the same as the TTech set up
any thoughts, say, ideals, comments, ......you get it what cha think?
BARKY

alex im shure if i could maitain my a-5 you'll be fine
Bingo

The quick exhaust I would pass on it. I think it was BD that told me when I was looking at it that when the paint gets in there it can jam the rod up. I have read on some of the other forms that it was the case also with people using them on their a5. Just my two cents.

I will be getting the soft paddles and the cyclone upgrade for my dt kit eventually
theJUDGE

get the JCS jet click over the TechT.  There is no spring cutting with the JCS.  Search it on ebay and you can get it for 20 something shipped as opposed to 35+shipping for the tech t.  Also if it has the RT alot of people have problems with HPA and RT.  You will have to do some dialing in or check out the tippmann forums to see how to do the super rt upgrade which allows for more air flow.
Bingo

The HPA and r/t is a pain in the arse comapred to it being used with co2. i had my first r/t on a 98custom and it did not wrok at all for me when I switched it over to HPA. It was way to hard to get it dialed in on the HPA.Just my two cents Laughing

Learn Something everyday.  Thanks for the info guys (I know it's not my thread but I'm still taking the info)  I had an RT on a marker that was stolen from me and I never had a problem with it but again I always used it it was on CO2.

BigMac

Yea I was thinking about just going back to CO2 and find a 24oz tank
I have heard the same things about it, but its not that hard to adjust I might just deal with it
theJUDGE

look into that super RT upgrade.  it upgrades the diameter of the hoses and banjos so that more air can flow to the RT when using HPA.  I have heard alot of good things about it.
Bingo

now that is new to me
BigMac

yea never heard of it, anyone have a link or a price?
theJUDGE

Well i looed it up for you, basically you can call Tippmann and fib a little telling them you have the LPK on your marker and you need the bigger hoses and fittings and they should send it to you.  There is one problem some people have run into and that is too much air going to the cyclone for proper feed.  the fix is the QEV or the QEPH, youor choice.
BigMac

LPK?

may want to get rid of the RT it wastes alot of gas and not very reliable. I never had any luck with it. May want to upgrade to a APE E grip. Gen II.

I have two set up like that no problems.
Bulldog

LPK = Low Pressure Kit - drops the minimum operating pressure on an A-5 from about 670psi to about 425psi.

Seriously, just PLAY with the thing a few times before you start complicating it and draining your wallet in the name of higher BPS.

Firehunter, I have slings for you.

Just remember Real Tippmanns do NOT use battries Cool

They're not made in China either- but we can see where that is going.   Pretty soon Palmer will be the only American-made markers left outside of purely custom stuff.
BigMac

Well I have my SP8, so this is gonna be a true USA Tippy!

Does it really?   I don't know if anyone on the team but Peacekeeper can confirm that, stranger.   Razz
BigMac

Yea it will work BD

After you send it in to Tippmann and are with out that marker for a couple of weeks! Or an other 100 bucks later
theJUDGE

Just to clear up I was not saying to get the LPK just to say you had it to get the parts for free.  I personally dont see the need for the LPK.
