FS: Scepter Grenade LauncherSince the Metadyne launcher can be converted to an undermount, I won't need this either.
Scepter launchers mount on your regular marker, connect to your marker's air source, and allow you to launch paint grenades, grapeshot, or small foam rockets (available from RAP4 and others). Old Dog is working on an adapter to allow you to lunch larger 2" Nerf rockets as well.
A few years ago these retailed for $350 and up, depending on the configuration, with the RIS rail-mount being $499. Then the company went bust, and prices on used ones went above retail. The new Metadyne launcher may cause the prices to drop a bit, but the Met is a bulkier 2" barrel, where this has a 1.5, which is lighter and better for launching paint grenades.
I have the launcher, RIS mount, a Spyder mount, and a paint grendade making kit with paint, syringe, tubing, etc.
$200
I just got it back from OldDog last night, so I don't have any pictures yet, but here's a stock one of the same model...

Will see if the "kids" can afford this for me for Christmas.
Will be out of town Tues and Wed for a funeral if it's still available we might talk this weekend.

It'll be nice if we can keep all these launchers in the team- should be pretty impressive next season.

I think we should rename our team:
The Nerfer Launcher Spammers.

"Need" is so subjective. I think you need this bolted to the bottom of your M4-style A-5, if only to help keep your arms in shape.
It includes a paint grenade kit with a length of tubing, plastic AS BBs, syringe, paint, cardboard sabots, etc. All you would need to do is restock the consumables, which are readily available.

OK thanks, when uncle sam finally gets me my money back, I will see what I have left after I get brakes on my car.
Can you still get the "consumables" ecen though spectre is bust?
|
Bulldog

Yup. The grenades are just surgical tubing, airsoft BBs, and paint. The sabots are 2" wrapping paper rolls.

ever have any trouble using them at FPO fields?
|
Bulldog

Viper doesn't like them, and some places don't like firing paint grenades in general. Hell Survivors is fine with them, as are most smaller fields and events. Old Dog was working on an adapter to let them fire Nerf rockets.

OD, if all else fails, we could always mount our scepters in that new toy we're picking up soon. Just need to modify them to be breach loading.
That reminds me, I need to score a bulk CO2 tank and a Scuba sized HPA.

firehunter

Yes we need to look at some ideas for the main weapon, I was thinking about moding a JCS launcher but we will talk about that when I have it indoors. A scuba tank would work well. OD

You could always use the scepter- just might need to up the pressure or modify the valve for more flow.
Have been thinking about picking up a couple of cheap bottom feed T68s from RAP4 and a couple of Warp feeds for the MG turret.
