hand me down vestDoes anyone have an old vest they dont use that is set up for 140 tubes? I dont like what I can buy local, and I guess we lost our discount on the rap4 vests..... |

I carry 6 140's now and a 20 oz tank, I am going to run a radio ect...ect...hydro pack...
Not going overboard, but getting there. I will buy... |

If you want to go with MarPat digital, you could get the vest from this thread and then cover the back in COPS911 pouches like this (but in MarPat):
That'd probably cost you a bit over $100 if you get the pouches from COPS911- but you'd be able to cary 4 extra 100-round pods in front for those "not-so-light" days.  Chad might be able to whip those pouches up cheaper.
If you want I'll bring one of my spare vests to IAO and you can try out some different lay-outs to help decide what you want, or you can stop by this weekend and check them out. |

I have the flurry vest that I am not using and you are more than welcome to use it. It holds the hydration bladder also. It holds four pods of any size in the back pouches and it has the radio holder on it also. The vest from Rap4 we still get a discount on just not the one from the month of March that we ordered them under. I think it would be around 50.00 for the rap4 vest. I saw the one that Erich and Dewayne had on at ebay for around 45.00 it is called Gen X vest look under the other section in the paintball area. Also if you want to spend about 45.00 to 50.00 for another one it is called UTG (under the gun vest) same area and it holds 8 pods of paint and hydration,radio,and tank pouch are also on it. I was looking at these also for the big games but the draw back is that they are in black only no Digi.... |

Yet another option: if you like the pod pack you have now but want more storage, Chad or I could make you a shoulder harness for it with a hydro pouch, nametag mounts, and wide straps with MOLLE webbing for radio, map, and other pouches. | ||

Also, Jbird, my vest is for sale as I want to upgrade to the RAP4. Mine has only been used twice in the field so it's fairly new. It can hold 4 pods of any size as well as a CO2/HPA tank. The nice thing about the pods is they can be removed by the top or the bottom, as they have a velcro strap that can be pulled for bottom removal of the pods. It makes for quick change.
It also has numerous pockets up front but doesnt get (or seem, for that matter) bulky. At any given point I have carried 4 pods, my air, a knife, my barrel squeegee and my tools and still have room for ID's or anything else you can think to put in there minus the kitchen sink. It is a great vest and the ONLY reason I am getting rid of it is I like the zipper on Josh's and I like the camo. Mine utilizes velcro on the sides and is black. Still comfy and all, but to me, the zipper looks better. So, with that, let me know! |
