I really really feel the need to go out and shoot someone...but unless we invent a new sport that combines scuba and paintball we aren't going to at the Land anytime soon.....
In no particular order...
This is a shot of the parking area and the dumpster there is on like 15" rims.
Yeah that's supposed to be a woodsball field not an extension of the creek.
About 1/4 of the down from the top and center and looking left, that's the TOP of the "Fort" that I think is at least a 6' fort and might be a 7 or 8' fort
From right behind the woods staging area, remember that huge hill to get down from staging to the field? Where did it go?
One of the starting gates on the speedball field, Good thing we always take the air bunkers inside after every day's play that lighter area at the bottom of the gate is a 3' high tarp, that's only about 1' or less still showing.
Another shot of the lake formerly known as the airball field.

Man is that a bummer. I saw that on the other forum(theLand). Hey do you guys have flood insurance? How old are those photos? Hey if you need help lemme know and I'll try to fit it in between Taco Bell and Rickenbacker.

I was out there today and all the water except for a fairly large puddle in the woods between the staging area and the fort. As for insurance we really can't get flood insurance in the flood plain of a creek this is why we just wait it out and clean up when the water goes away, this happens EVERY spring to The Land. But.... it looks like we will be able to open this weekend if only for speedball.
On how old are they? They were taken the day I posted them Wed 19 Mar 08

I might be there this weekend but I saw the forcast and it shows another storm coming near or on the weekend. Good luck in clean-up.

u ever think about trying to set up some sort or dam along the banks, i guess it is quit a large area to cover, but if someone could come up with a clever way to do it, u could probably save the field from flooding due to minor rains. just putting it out there, im sure someone has thought about it before.

I picked up my kit yesterday so now I want to play even more. I do have to say though, that 8" looks really funny on the cocker. It kind of looks like ats a stubby little gun that cant do much.

I have to drive out to the field today to make the final call. My yard at my house was like laking on a spounge. With every step I sunk in 2" and cuased a little puddle for a few moments till the ground bounced back....
I'll post one way or the other once I know.

I doubt they would be allowed to do that, theres so much water anyways even if they were allowed water would still find away once it fills in, The only way they would be able to keep it out is if they dammed the whole creek, which they defintly would not be allowed to do and not so easy lol.

i was thinkin along the lines of a flood wall along the bank of the creek along side the field. it wouldnt stop the major flooding but could slow anything from the quick summer storms

That might help in the situations you say bu this major flood would still be 2' deep becasue the water would now have no way of escaping the field, a flood dam holds water on both sides equally.

yea i thought about that, it would help with minor flodding, say about 3 feet, but anything major, such as this would cause it to back fire. so ultimately, the best plan is for it to never rain, ever. lol

What a bout this if someway you did make a a wall of somesort sandbags, concrete what have you you can always have several drains every five to ten feet. So that if indeed the wall is keeping the water in the field. All you have to do is pull-up/open the drain doors or vents and let out the water. Only problem is that with a wall its harder to sneak or flank using the trees on the creek front because the wall would be in the way. By the way besides the tire bunker what other bunkers were swifted away?
