Just picked this up

So my parents are just giving me money for my bday.  no complaints here but i wanted a physical gift so i used part of it to pick this up under 50 bucks off of ebay.  it should be here in a few days so i am very very excited.  i may still get the tm7 as well but i might have a deal for a tacone in the workings... we shall see.  it all depends on how much the A5 sells for at this point.
Dirdy

It looks...heavy and slow lol.

but also indestructable.
BARKY

heavy yes slow yes reliable yes

had one as my first gun
theJUDGE

i never really thought this was a heavy gun.  especially with my remote.  the trigger pull wil be heavy but i may mopd that and hopefully get it to a lil faster cycling.
Squirlly

Not Heavy but Heavy Duty.  I love Pro/Carbines I retired me to backup status only once I got my Autococker.  Get a truflight barrel for it, you'll be MUCH happier!!  They use A-5 threaded barrels but there are VERY FEW that fit due to the forearm.

yeah if you have a dermal that can help you vary in barrels ive seen a guy use a freak on one
theJUDGE

I am thinking of sticking with J&J for the barrel.  The regular barrels fit it but the kits give a problem.  I will prolly just pick one up soon.  I have seen it with a 16" and it shot nails but that is a lil long for me so i may go 12 or 14".
Squirlly

12" barrels on a Pro/Carbine look short to me, my 14"s look the best IMO

i will have to go and measure them up when i get it in.  It will all depend on what i feel like at the time lol.  i kinda have been feeling the compact gun so i may want to save on the 2"  It ctually makes me wonder if a 10" would fit or even an 8".  Would prolly look crazy and be too short but we shall see.

I can measure the stock barrel when I get home tonight.... but the stock barrel makes it look like a sawed off shot gun just barley clearing the shroud might look like a pistol griped thing out of Mad Max.

BARKY

MAD MAX FTW!!!

kinda what i might be going for  Wink
theJUDGE

came in today.  looks a lil beat up but nothing that cant be fixed.  it was missing the linkage arm and the rear sight to hold the linkage arm in so i ordered those along with a new detent.  should be operational soon.  Also the stock barrel is 10.5" so i may go shorter.  I will take it to the proshop and measure them up so see what i like best.  knowing me i will prolly end up at 12"
theJUDGE

here it is in all of its working glory... new linkage arm, meatl sight, and an 8" Lapco BigShot
Squirlly

As Yoda would say ...

mmmm me thinks be in the market for an 8" "A-5" barrel I am

-Tim
theJUDGE

if i get to go this weekend i will most likely pull this out and test it out a bit.
theJUDGE

Well i think i am just about done fixing her up.  I replaced alot of screws,   painted some, new asa, shrink wrapped the lines, metal sight, new steel braid, painted the   foregrip, and now   really all thats left is to improve the trigger's looks  with either paint or just  some steel wool to keep it silver.

The beginning

After some time

and now
Bulldog

You can still find double triggers for those online.   Makes a HUGE difference with that heavy pull.
theJUDGE

yea but i just cant stand the look of them.  i dont know if i would want one.  i kind of like the sawed off shotgun look of it.

Are you that big of a girly man?

I mean it's not THAT heavy of a trigger pull.  I have 2 Pro/Carbines (used to be 3) and I never noticed that much difference from my .45acp and it has an 8.2lb pull.

-Tim
theJUDGE

i also  have a spring kit on the way and in there is a lighter trigger pull spring.   should  help  out a  little.

Just because I had my ProLite anodized in Pink...

When playing 2-day events like TWC and The Bash, and going through over a case, yes, my trigger finger would get tired.   I prefer to use my... bird finger anyhow, and usually rest my trigger finger on the safety button when using a double trigger.
Dirdy

Double triggers all the way. If you find yourself trying to outshoot a e-grip or any electric marker. Its nice to have some help with a lighter trigger.

Instead of using those ancient markers old heavy realistic feel lol. I couldnt not imagine going to one of those with what im use too, Even the autococker is heavy pull for me.
Squirlly

Dirdy with your markers is it still a trigger pull or is now concidered a "click"?

Yeah sorry, correction. More like a mouse click. My Occasionally Functional Spacegun is more like a tap if that.
theJUDGE

Dirdy I'm just busting your chops just becasue I can.  I have the trigger on my Timmy set where it only travels about 1/8" and I've been shot on the trigger after being eliminated and heard 3 shots go off (I had it in 3-Round burst).... I've also picked up a new toy for $50 that may make me reconcider my no batteries in the woods stance.

Nope that is a CO2 using 11bps max SmartParts Vibe  Twisted Evil (Same internals as the SP1)

No eyes but it has an Anti-Chop bolt that works AWESOME, shoots UNDERWATER and at only 170psi.  So it's like 1/2 an electro so only 1/2 the things can go wrong and my major complaint with electros in the Woods was getting wet

but this one is a better "real" scenario
