If anyone is on the fence its time to jump down and hit the ground running. Best field in the Midwest and it will get some votes for best in the country. Viper Paintball puts on a awesome event. This event is Sherwood's largets event and it will surely be a packed house.

more details to follow, I'm sure we will be arranging some sort of camping arrangements as usual. see you all in May!

Yes it has the 2 story castle and I believe they are making another in the middle of the field or making some modifications to the field. It is a great field and the players there are good people also.

Awesome. Sounds like we'll have enough people going this year that he may want to set a cut-off on sleepers, take them based on deposit, and make the rest sleep in tents.

We should also reserve the cheapest hotel room we can find, for hot showers Saturday night.

I hope everyone had a great holiday and Santa brought all kinds of good stuff, because he HOOKED ME UP! New LCD Flat Panel TV. I must have been a good boy last year. Laughing

Anyways, I wanted to let you guys know that DR is working on a contingent of people to roll up to Judge Dredd to play with you guys. Right now, we have about 5 definite, and I'm sure we'll get more.

Just got back from the Big Lots on Morse Rd. They have 1 million candlepower spotlights for $9.99 and then a $4 mail-in rebate. Has a built-in rechargable battery and comes with both wall charger and car charger. I picked up one to make sure it can be rigged for our needs. If it works, I'll try to grab a few more of these. Not sure of other Big Lots would have them.

Edit:
These will work great. Most of the internal components can be removed easily to allow for an extra switch or whatever to be installed to make it easy to reset after being tripped. I'm going to modify this one and post up the results.

Wanted to post to redirect Shrewood Talk from the Intro thread to this one and to also let you know my intentions....

As many of you may know I'm in the sign business and early May is the very begining to our busy season .... Grad Banner Season!! but as long as I can make plans NOW to get the time off I might be able to swing it.

I know the event is 2 days and I know I have to take Friday off to get there but how late does Sunday play go? Basically will we drive back Sunday night or do I also have to take Monday off too? Oh yeah I plan on riding with someone we can share the driving, specially Sunday night on the way home

Lets make soft leave times and at least one car pool that's returning Sunday night. I wanna PLAY paintball not just ref!!!

I have a converstion van that can hold 7 easy, 4 in style, and 2 could use it to sleep, and 1 would just be greedy. Its not Petes RV but it has DVD, two screens, and a nice system....Are we camping out or getting rooms for this? I am turning my money in next week.

Ok since pre-reg must be post marked by April 2 which is a Monday what day would you want to set as a team dead line getting you the money? I'd say a week before you have to mail it would be great 26Mar08, which gives a hair bit of time for the mail to get to you before you have to mail it to Viper.

Also pre-reg is JUST field fees right? Don't have to pre-pay for paint at time of pre-reg correct?

Viper uses the buy paint to make sure he has enough paint at the event, at GI Joe he had to have paint brought to the field Saturdays night because so many did not pre reg. So if you can yes buy one case of paint, you can split it with a team mate if you like. Plus it make it a lot easer day of event, when you go to get your packet he has everything ready, paint, air pass, badges, etc etc. olddog

Last year I bought the paint when I got there. i think if he has the idea you are comig then according to the pre reg. and you wait to get the paint then it will be there.

BUT if we get more than 6 to pre reg as a team we can get 10 cases of paint for free possibly. Hence that is whay i am willing to send in the reg all at once for all of us so that way we are eligable. It would make a nice break on the $ if we win.

I would say get the $ to me by 03-21 so that way it can make it there in time for the drawing also / not get lost or forgotten.

Bingo, I don't think you have to, as a team, register to be eligible for the free cases of paint drawing.

Viper has not have a "team" registration form in the past. He will simply be looking his list of all the players who are early birds and sort them out manually. So as long as every player from Delta Squad puts Delta Squad down on the team line, Viper will get your numbers that way.

No it would just make it easier for him if we sned all of the team in then he would not have to check for each ind. and maybe miss one of us. Not that he would buit it will help elimante that chance. Besides that it would give a good impression of us to him if we send in a team reg. that is also a plus maybe, not that it will do anything for us.

Also just making it easier for the guys on the team to give it to one person at a later date and have it all sent in.

Okay then if everyone is okay with it:

- fill out the pre. reg. with check made out to Viper and send to me
-fill out the waiver also.

- if we do not want to do this that is fine with me. just trying to make it simpler for us then we know who is going for sure to the game. If you send it in by yourself then we do not have a ehad count or a confirmed i am going. The reasoning behind this it would commit us to go if I send it in and we know who is going. Rather than piece meal it at the last minute. I would have a count as the team captain and able to let the commanding office r know for sure who is coming and the numbers we are going to have for them.

In the past we have had folks say they are going then back out at the last minute, which is understandable with families and kids. But this to me would help us nail down the numbers we have going. Just trying to make us more orginized and look good to the event we attend as a team thaf has their crap together, not that we don't.

You guys let me know do it on your own or send one registration packet with all in it.

There is a hotel there about 3-5 miles from the field if I remember correctly. Look for Laporte, IN hotels. Also some of the guys might be camping there with either vehicles or tent camping possibly. i am in th eair on that right now as to which to do.

I might be hoteling it if I can get some more soccer games in. Pete MH might be a bit costly for the gas to run that far, not sure on that either, uip to Pete if he wants to run it that far.

I know BD talked earlier about having a hippie camper, JK, something like one of the old style VW Campers.

I liked what we did last year, getting 1 hotel room for the pansies to sleep in and so everyone else could use the shower - of course, this could also be the year Pete learns how to operate the water works in his RV... Razz

I'll camp. I have an inflatable tent (the "poles" are air pockets) that if I get the right adapter... Oh wait I need to call OldDog again... Anyway if I get the right adapter it will self inflate in 10 seconds from a paintball CO2 tank. The Commercail adapter is like $105 bucks and I only paid $40 for the tent but if OldDog can inexpensivally make me an adapter that screws on a CO2 tank that would fit a standard tire valve on the other end with a way to controll the flow (lever valve or spin valve) My Idea was to convert a coil remote to output to a tire valve...

Oh back on topic you all want me to camp since I've been told that when I'm tent camping people in the camper 3 SITES DOWN could hear my snoring thru the walls of their camper.
