My frist weekendWell this weekend is the first weekend for the Civil War reenacting for me. It is a basic training weekend for us. That means going over the formations, movements, firing the rifles and facings for firing the rifles.
Should be interesting if it does not rain to much should be interesting. A sign of the times for us, is that the big anniversery battle this year would have been Spotsylvania (Wilderness) and it was cancelled as there was not enough pre registered people so far. It probably would have been around 15,000 reenactors there but it did not work out. They cancelled because they did not think there would be enough pre registered people to help cover the cost of the event.
Will be down at the StateHouse Lawn on the 04-25 and 04-26 if any of you would be interested in seeing the cannons being fired and watching the windows in the building around downtown rattle, huntington and vern riffe. They have a competition to see who get the highest up.
Plus you can see us dressed in the fancy wool uniforms and learn sonme history he he !! Take care guys
