Used Garmin RINO Radio/GPS Units FS on SpecOps Forum

Robert from COPS911 is selling a couple of these on the SO forum. He's had them up for sale on the COPS911 site for a long time, so you might be able to talk him down some more.

These are the units Chad and I use that let you send your GPS location to other authorized users every time you talk. Works on both FRS and GMRS bands. Great for finding each other at big events or on the road TO big events. I highly reccommend them if you have the $$.
Bingo

Link comes up as broken and out of date when pulled up. What section was it in the for sale or a special area.

It does that if you're not logged in when you click it- it's on the 1st page of the BST - but you have to be logged in to see the BST section.

I thinnk I'd like to upgrade to the RINO 130, which adds a digital compass and NOAA weather chanels. Not needed for paintball, but nice for hiking. If any of you are interrested I'd sell my Rino 120 with the latest software installed, topo maps for the Eastern US, all the manuals, and a COPS911 wrist holder for $150.

$150 for a radio????????????????

hell I'm have trouble trying to get money together for a Volicty

Rolling Eyes $150 for a radio AND GPS with topo maps that keeps track of where all your teammates are on the field so you can coordinate movements. Also lets you upload your movements to a PC and overlay it on a sattelite map so you can mark trails and waypoint flag bases.

so does your new radio do this?
at a big game you could use this to move around the field at night with out a flash light?
Bulldog

I'm selling the Rino 120 so I can buy the Rino 130, which has all that, plus a digital compass (doesn't rely on sattelite positioning to refresh) more memory (for more maps), and NOAA weather chanels for monitoring the weather when I'm hiking in the mountains.

Niether radio includes SONAR - which is what you'd need to navigate in the dark. Laughing But if you have waypointed your destination you could find your way to it without being able to see landmarks or follow paths.

So this Rino 120 can it be used to take a road trip and how do you but your start and end points?

Yep- it has basic road and highway maps built in, and you can upload the super-detailed Garmin maps as well. For plotting waypoints you can manually scroll to the location and click to set it, manually enter the lat and long with the joystick and set it, or download the route from a computer.

When you're traveling it updates the map in real-time so you can see intersections coming up and what the crossroads are. It also has a stats pages to track things like, trip distance, average speed, moving speed, current speed, distance to waypoint, etc. I use the satelite-accurate speed indicator to heck the speedos in my cars.

JoshW will you be at the 3/5 pratice with this Rino 120? How well does it work as a radio with a thout mic?
Bulldog

Yep, I'll have it there. Works great as a radio- has both FRS and GMRS frequencies, and uses a standard jack that I've used with a JT comm system and Firefox throat mike.
