Winter Ball question

I went up to Battlefront for their Stalingrad scenario this weekend, and I have to tell you it was an awful experience. Paint was breaking in the barrel constantly, balls were going nowhere near where I was shooting etc.

Is this the norm for winter ball? Or maybe it was just their paint? They kept talking about how the paint was the same stuff they use in the Ukraine, that it's good for winter, but that wasn't my experience at all, and a lot of other players were having trouble also.

I'd like to do some more in the winter, but if this is the norm I guess I wait for spring.

It kind of depends on the day I think.  I went to battle of the bulge last year and I used a barrel kit so I didnt get too many breaks.  winter paint tends to be bigger bore size b/c of how it is made.  But cold weather does make things more interesting.  what barrel were you using by the way?

Re: Winter Ball question

DANG I had a post that took me over 45min to write and the computer flashed it Mad   Anyway What Kind of paintball, marker, barrel and air system were you using?  I've played at Battlefront in the winter with NO issues in the past but others on my team were not so lucky.

After last year with all the paint breaking, plus just the straight up being cold part. I decieded Winter is my offseason, and i'll just snowboard instead of paintball. And it saves me alot of frustration and problems.

You can get away with no breaking of paint in the winter but you have to have all the right paint and equipment, which i dont feel like waisting my money or time for.

For all the people that said they have never had a problem playing in the winter, they will sooner or later, paint just breaks easier in the wineter and it always will until global warming makes our summers 70 degrees all winter aorund lol.

Was using my A5 with Smart Parts Progressive. Using nitro via remote, the paint was some crap they bragged about being from the Ukraine. I just got a bag of 500, so I don't know the brand. I do recall seeing cases of GAP, so maybe thats what it was. My friend used his 98 w/Apex, then with J&J ceramic. It was so bad he had to take his gun apart to clean out the paint after the 1st game.

Any paint which breaks in the cold tempature is gonna be a pain to clean, the tempature is gonna make the paint thicker and a bigger mess than normal than in the summer. Some paints can be a little bit more water base and some can be a big stain but 9/10 times no matter what paint you use its gonna be harder to clean in the cold than in the heat.

Also no matter what paint you use its gonna break easier in the cold than heat. Not saying all of them do but its just more likly.
Bingo

I know when we went up for the BHD event in March 07 (why have the event when it can still snow out with this title) I switched from my blender a5 to my sp8 and had no breaks with the paint compare to the a5.

Really... hmm I only had 1 or 2 breaks at battle of the bulge in my A5.  Maybe I just got lucky with it.
