The story takes place in the "Weird West" in the last 19th century. The history of the Weird West is identical to real-world history, up until July 3, 1863. On this date, a group of American Indians from various tribes, led by a Sioux shaman known as "Raven," performed the Great Ghost Dance in an effort to drive out the European settlers. This ritual created a conduit to a spiritual realm populated by powerful malicious entities known as the "Reckoners."

The ultimate goal of the Reckoners is to turn the entire Earth into an evil, haunted wasteland — literally a Hell on Earth. However, the Reckoners cannot directly enter Earth's realm unless the overall fear level of the entire planet becomes sufficiently high. To this end, they use their powers to create monsters, madmen, zombies, and other creatures and villains that will sow fear and terror throughout the land.

The unleashing of the Reckoners has had a number of important side effects. Magic was revealed to be real, although it involves challenging otherworldly spirits, "manitous". These same manitous can possess a recently deceased body and reanimate it, creating a "Harrowed". Harrowed beings are sometimes under the control of the spirit (who uses the opportunity to spread fear) and sometimes under the control of the deceased being. Scientific progress rapidly advances as the Reckoners support experimental designs that normally would not work. This progress drives Deadland's technological level from historical levels to a "steampunk" setting. The Reckoners create "ghost rock," a mineral that burns hotter and longer than coal and supports the steampunk technology.

probably not going as I want to go somewhere different than Sherwood all the time. Place is great people are great and I have no probelm with it, but the drive and same field all the time kind of killing the interest to go there right now.

Might change later but not interested in it right now and we do need to find other places to go IMO.....if we want to get rcognized as other scenario teams do...IMO...but a game that has quality of Vipers too which probably will be hard to find.

Sherwood puts splatterpark to shame.....big time!!! If you have to choose one this is the one to go with the field they have and the quality of teams. This one is more of a challenge than splaterpark is.

Yes they have on site camping and Bingo right you won't fine a better field with in 5 hours drive fro Columbus and the quality of teams is unsurpassed.

This will be the teams third trip there this year if that give you many idea of how much we like this field and there events. Olddog

You have two day to get prereged there web site has been set up to prereg but you have to fax over your release form in two day or you forfeit you entry. Fax number is there phone number you have to call them first so they turn on the fax. but it's no big deal. Olddog

Hey guys someone from the paintball store who takes the registration for sherwwod called my house and was inquiring about nathans registration paperwork money was sent but no paperwork faxed in 2 days ... He didn't want to have someone lose there money .... Said they have tried calling and e-mailing but no response from Nathan ... Don't no why they called me . Don't know if it is your reg Zoo or if any body hasn't sent there forms in please check .. I'll call them Fri... to get more info

My camper van arrives tomorrow morning. Seats 6 comfortably, so as many as want to roll out with me Friday morning are welcome- will set the specific time a bit closer in.

I'll be slapping a trailer hitch on it so I can haul OD's trailer with his 4-wheeler and my scooter on it, and should still have plenty of room for gear, sleeping bags and tents.

Has 2 beds- one for me and one for DK if he's going- otherwise you guys can play Rochambeau for it. OD is getting a hotel room, and we'll probably pay him a fee to shower there.

hey Delta, what are you guys doing for a fire pit?

I'm trying to see if there is enough interest to get a group buy on fire wood going.

There is a tree service operation just 2 minutes from Sherwood that I used May 2007 for fire wood. You needed to have have a pickup truck and you got to fill the bed up all the way and then some with wood. It was $70 for the load. It was ALOT of wood. WOW, GLR and Fubar didn't even use half of it.

I don't have a truck, still need to find somebody for that.

You guys interested?

We have a truck, so we have no problem getting the wood. 1st MG is taking 1/3rd of the wood which will be 23-24 bucks.

WOW will probably take anther 1/3rd which will leave the last 3rd for someone else. A member of Akicita has spoken up for some wood as well, but there are only 2 of those guys coming.

1/3 of a load comes to 23-24 bucks. Between Delta and Akicita, I bet you will want that 1/3 and should have around 10 peope combined which puts each guy around 2 bucks each for wood.
