Oh Man.....SOB both of the e grips believe it or not have gone out on my a5's. I have sent them back today (thanks to the wife being a teacher) They said they would look at them and see if it is something they can fix. If not they will send me new ones.
I did eveything you can think of to see if they were okay. Battery, wires, pinched wires. Nothing happened !!
Well at least I do have the sp-8 and back up a5 with R/T and grenade launcher....soon the mortar launcher (mobile) this may help if we decide to do the in the middle at the village at Battlefront paintball. Plus I have the shoulder launcher which I would have to make some sabot rounds...

Yea and i am hoping to ge them by next friday back. I sent the e grips back through the USPS seen how I had the money for it this time around. It usually gets there in the 2-3 days they say it takes. So that would put it there Tues. and if they can send it back on Wed. i should get it by Friday I hope......If not I will have to see if I can get the Python insert for the sp-8

What are the odds of Two Egrips going dead at the same time? Where they connected some how?
I doubt you would get it back that soon, even if it does come threw shipping that fast it would probably take them 2 if not more days. Just what im thinking. Hopfully you will get them back in time though.
If not, you are welcome to barrow any of my Freak Barrel Inserts if they will work. As long as its not the same type im using, which i think i will be using Marbalizer which is around 686 689 Bore Size. I think have two of one size though too.

Dirdy,
I am thinking also that I may not get them back on time. So I will have to use the sp-8 or my a5 with the R/T, which I really do not want to use, seen how I would have to use the co2 to run the r/t as hpa will not do it. With the weather being as cold as it is the c02 will probably freeze the gun.
I have found that the sp-8 is great for night play as you can barely hear the thing fire. But the distance compared to the a5 is lacking. That is whay I am going to hopefully be able to get the front body for the python kit I have to use on the sp-8 to help increase the distance for me.

Have you tried playing with the Dwell and Velocity of the SP8?
The SP8 is pretty much a clone of the Ion except it doesn't have the body, which is a SmartParts marker and works alot like the Occasionally Functional Spacegun which is also SmartParts. Depending on how much air you have per shot and air between shots and so on will determine alot of that of distance.

A ball leaving 4" stock barrel in a straight line at 275fps will travel exactly the same distance as the same ball leaving an 18" spiral ported/rifled "sniper" barrel- unless the ball has backspin to make it go farther. The only way to get backspin is with a Flatline or Apex barrel.
If you have 2 markers with different ranges and neither has a Flatline or Apex, you are not shooting at the same speed, or one of them is so flawed it is corkscrewing the balls and wasting forward momentum.

100% true, no barrel besides a flateline and a Apex will make a ball go any farther than another.
Dwell and Velocity have alot to do with the consistancy and speed of the ball.
The only diffrent a Freak Barrel kit would have next to a J&J or stock barrel is the accuracy becuase of the Bore Paint Match.

Speaking of which . . .
I just got a 12" J&J S2 barrel in the mail today. Will it actually make a differance vs the stock A5 barrel?

It will be a little quieter, self-clean better when you break a ball, and probably be a little more accurate.

Yes as far as accuracy goes. I have shot with J&J since I started paintball and in the year I didnt have it I learned why I loved it so much. I used a J&J at the last battlefront (borrowed) and I must say it was an awesome barrel. Thats why I bought the kit recently.

I use the J & J 14" on the second a5 I have and it is accurate as heck as far as I am concerned. i have taken it in the back yard and have found when shooting the stock and switching to the J & J there is a big differnce.
Yea the sp-8 and the a5 doe not compare when you talk about the flatline, and yes I know there will be a difference in the distance and so on. I have to play with the dwell some more and try that. i got on the Ion owners site and got some good info from there as towhat to set the dwell. Now it is just finding the time to get there, or better yet sneaking down there w/o the 1 yr old seeing me.
But the python system does make a diference also as I found out at the lands when we were there. I put it in the J & J 14" and it did increase the distance and it did kick up my velocity also.
