You've never been permitted to go more than 5 to 6' up the hill since I worked there (here's another reason you all can HATE ME) since I SET THAT RULE PERSONALLY becasue there were people going all the way up the hill and there is no netting up there and we can't have people shooting up that hill and hitting a car on I-270 or in the parking lot of the hotel... As for the creek not my rule it's the Ohio Department of Natural Resources rule, Big Walnut Creek has been deemed unsafe for swimming so you can't go in the water either.

The creek I can understand- but in the past refs had told us we could play there, and the bank was covered in boot prints. The water didn't come over my knees, so there was no swimming involved.
Why not put netting up on the hill? Why hold people to 3 feet (or 6 feet) from the bottom because some where going to the top- just run a tape-line about halfway up, or wherever it needs to be to ensure nobody needs to point their marker high enough to make it over the hill. Maybe a combination of a half-height netting wall and a tape line 20 feet or so down from the top.
The field is stupid without the hill or creek, unless you're playing with teams of 4 or less. You can see and shoot all the way across the flat part, and the big fort creates an impossible choke point. Every game becomes a boring skirmish line with nobody able to move more than 30 feet after the first 20 seconds until most of the one team or both is eliminated. I was starting to get into going there, especially since taking a longer day to travel farther is tough, but with the field now only being 75 yards wide and open in the middle, it's a waste of time. I won't be playing there again until something changes.
Also, why don't they POST these rules somewhere? I'm not finding them on the site or forum, so it comes down to the refs to explain them- usually AFTER someone has broken one. Maybe they're in the clubhouse- I glanced around briefly while I was there (trying to find the price sheet) but they didn't catch my eye. _________________ "videor levis, forsitan usus pauci telum" |

becasue there was no netting that is why I set the rule. I actually set it at HALF WAY UP but apparently people can't comprehend 1/2 way and were 3/4 or more so they must have had enough and set it lower. I agree that hill would be a great place to play IF/WHEN they get netting then that hill should be opened back up.

I will donate a spool of safety tape and the time to install it if they will let me play halfway up the hill. I might spring for the 1year pass, too. _________________ "videor levis, forsitan usus pauci telum" |

Well looking at the hill... there is not much change of hitting any car on I270...LOL that road is an access road to the businesses there. Secondly, if i am shooting up the hill to someone, there is no way that my paintball would go past the tree line at the top with out lobbing down onto a car. The biggest problem would be a level firefight at the top. And that is always possible. so a tape line half way up would be good idea. But Josh is right... after awhile it gets old... |

BD I believe the refs all have their own rules like you said last time, the refs allowed us to go in the water. If we dared.
I say its to the persons advantage / disadvantage if they are daring to go for the water kill. So give them that chance, it's not like anyone is going to be going more than knee deep.
We will get sick quicker by rolling around in dirty than puting our feet in that water.
I would almost say a rule briefing should be held before a game, but it would be impossiable with all the new people who walk on, we added about 10-15 people through out the day.
Plus it already takes long enough to get a game started as is since the refs dont take charge its more the players to get everyone going.
Def should propose a list of rules in Print Squirlly!
