Okay so now we have the British Gov. removing the Holocaust from their history books due to the fact it offended the MUSLIMS.

GET OVER IT FREAKING WACKOS......WHY ARE YOU NOT MAKING A STINK OVER THE BEHEADINGS, BLOWING YOURSELVES UP TO KILL PEOPLE......YELL AT YOUR OWN RELIGION THAT THESE PEOPLE OFFEND YOU IN THE WAY THEY PORTRAY YOUR RELIGION.

Till you start taking care of your own issues with in your relgion keep out of others issues or what you make to be issues.

Maybe we need to get rid of the prayer rooms in the freaking airport that you say you need to pray. IT OFFENDS ME THAT THEY ARE THERE.... Exclamation

Unbunch your panties.

Quote:
Origins:   This piece began circulating in e-mail in mid-April 2007. Its central claim, that schools in Britain no longer teach about The Holocaust for fear of offending Muslim students, isn't on the money: Even news articles that bear titles such as "Britain Schools Ignore the Holocaust" and "Schools Drop Holocaust Lessons" point out that only one history department in a northern UK school did that. In all the rest of the country's schools, information about the Holocaust was still being imparted to students.

Those news articles were a response to the March 2007 release of the Historical Association's report titled Teaching Emotive and Controversial History 3-19 (overview of its objectives here and full report here), a study funded by the UK's Department for Education and Skills to examine how educators in Britain were teaching sensitive and/or controversial aspects of history and to highlight what approaches had worked among those that had been tried...

...One history department looked at by the fact-finders was found to have cut information about the Holocaust from its lessons due to worries that Muslim pupils might express anti-Semitic reactions. Said the report: "For example, a history department in a northern city recently avoided selecting the Holocaust as a topic for GCSE coursework for fear of confronting anti-Semitic sentiment and Holocaust denial among some Muslim pupils. In another history department, the Holocaust was taught despite anti-Semitic sentiment among some pupils, but the same department deliberately avoided teaching the Crusades at Key Stage 3 because their balanced treatment of the topic would have directly challenged what was taught in some local mosques."...

The bottom line to all this fuss? Schools in the UK are indeed teaching about the Holocaust, something British journalists seemed to downplay in their rush to report that one department in one city was not. The e-mailed call to arms cited above was likely the result of a misreading of those already badly-presented news articles.

Yes, but you're tired of it in part because you are bombarded with inflammatory, misleading, or outright false information like this.   The people who create this stuff, even the true ones, are trying to manipulate you and keep you whipped into a frenzy.

If I want to know what is going on, I'll read a news site- even most politically motivated ones are more honest than the anonymous chain emails people send out or post on boards.   That other crap generally gets deleted/skipped- unless it's being posted to a group I am a part of.

No I see it here in court everyday.....why do we need to pay or use our tax dollars to get a interpretor for someone that wants to live in our country. If you want to live here learn ENGLISH....why do we need to spend tax dollars on them to apease them when they need to learn our language .

My grandparents came here through Ellis Island in 1927 and they were REQUIRED to learn English, have a sponsor, go to night school and learn the language, and have a JOB.

Somalians / Mexicans / Africans  come here they get on the welfare system and are not citizens at all. Why do we pay them the money to stay here and be here and not a citizen. Hell we even give them money to go to college and get a education (story on 60minutes)

So I see it everyday hear it everyday........and experience it and deal with it. Just wait we will be a third world country it is just a matter of time IMO...Until then learn ENGLISH, live by our laws and deal with it...

Bingo I try to keep out of the political discussions on forums since it's said the fastest way to make a friend into an enemy is discuss religion or politics. I'm the Public Relations Officer for the Ohio Chapter of the Christian Paintball Players Association so I really can't aviod the religion discussions so like I said I try to stay out of the politics but....

...well all I can say is if we were to talk politics we most likley agree 95+% of the time.

I'm not offended, just amused by how little Chippewa you've bothered to learn.

Thats tottaly true, alot of the emails that are sent, are really just like propaganda or radicals just trying to get you worked up and believe them. Instead read the newspaper or watch the news and get from it what you think about it instead of agreeing a one side story from a email.
