Are these the fairly descent ones to get compared to the ones at the local army navy store here in town. they sound like they are made of cooler material also. (Fast Drying)

I bought my older digis at US Cav - they are made by True-Spec, and probably the best commercial MarPat ones you can buy. They aren't as nice or cool as the real USMC stuff, but cost a third less.

It's a great way to get everyone in the same pattern cheap so we look more like a team.

Ok, I understand this is a stupid "Noob" question; but I'll ask anyways! lol

Is digicamo actually better than, say, woodland camo?

Better in quality? Not really. Better for hiding your butt in the woods? Definitely. Help you get your uniform ready for Delta Squad? Absolutely! Smile

haha Ok, after we move on over to Ohio, I'll get on getting a digi cammie set going.
Was there a decision on what pattern and so on to use as a team?
Can't afford to buy two sets just in case I were to be recruited! lol

Depends. The U.S. "woodland" pattern, ACUPAT and MARPAT are all "aggressive" camouflage. They are meant to break up your lines, since the human eye automatically tries to detect known patterns. The shape of a human will be easy for your eye to pick up. All such camo is meant to make it harder for the enemy to pick you up.

Digital patterns use small pixelation so the "aggressive" camo works at closer ranges than the older patterns. This largely depends on how close you think the enemy may be, since woodland can hide you just as well at distance. Don't mistake "digital" patterns for some end-all, be-all camo. Of course, they have a large "coolness" factor, since they are new.

"Passive" camouflage patterns (hunting patterns) are meant to make you actually look like the surroundings rather than simply blending your lines. They can actually work better when used in the terrain they are designed for. "Aggressive" camo works in a broader range of terrain.

Quality-wise, they're mostly the same materials in different color patterns. They will typically last equally long depending on the quality of the stitching, reinforced areas, etc.

Cheers,
Bill
